Donald Harvey Masure, of Ripple Lane died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, N.H.
Donald was born Sept. 27, 1934 in Sutton, Vt., the eldest son of Lewis and Margaret (Grady) Masure. Donald attended Peacham Academy in Peacham, Vt. Following graduation in 1952 he served for 3 years in the United states Army. He drove truck for St. Johnsbury and Preston Trucking retiring in 1997. Donald was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, the American Legion and the Teamsters. He enjoyed watching Boston Red Sox games. He loved his garden, enjoyed traveling with his family and still looked forward to hunting season.
On Aug. 18, 1957 in Peacham, he married Elaine B. (Densmore) Masure who died May 13, 2011. Donald leaves two sons, Warren Masure and wife Shirley of Springfield, Vt. and Wade and wife Katrina of Bellows Falls, Vt.; two brothers, Ronald of Sidney, Maine, and Frederick of Athol, Mass.; two sisters, Marilyn Beam of Ascutney and Joyce Richards of Rockingham, Vt.; four grandchildren, Eliza and Benjamin of Bellows Falls, Vt. and Katie and Andrew of Springfield, Vt. Besides his parents and his wife, he is predeceased by a sister Charlotte Stocker.
There will be calling hours Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home, Bellows Falls, Vt. A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Bellows Falls.
