MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) -- Utility crews in Vermont are steadily restoring power to thousands of Vermonters who lost it during Sunday night's storm.
A week after an ice storm left parts of northern New England in the dark, a band of heavy, wet snow rumbled through the region. Green Mountain Power in Vermont was reporting 2,700 outages Monday morning, down from more than 11,600.
The snow is over for now but bitter cold is dropping into the region.
State police in Vermont says they've responded to several calls about cars sliding off the road.
