Vt. woman accused of trying to set fires

BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- A resident of a senior living facility in Vermont has pleaded not guilty to charges of trying to burn down the building.

Police said 66-year-old Judith Fachini was in the process of being evicted from the Cora B. Whitney Senior Living Facility in Bennington because of previous incidents in which she allegedly started fires.

The Rutland Herald reports ( an officer said he was sent to the building Wednesday night. He said the fire was started in the hallway. Some newspapers were burned.

The officer said he had been to the building before, in February 2012, for another fire complaint involving Fachini.

It wasn't immediately known if she had a lawyer.
