NEW HAVEN, Vt. (AP) — Police say a woman was killed when the vehicle she was driving crossed over the highway and went down an embankment on Big Hollow Road in Starksboro.
Officials didn't immediately identify the victim of Sunday's accident, pending notification of out-of-state family.
Police say the woman's car traveled left of the center on Big Hollow Road and went down a hill on the southbound side of the highway shortly before noon Sunday. Officials described the road as snow covered and as having been sanded prior to the accident.
Police say the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. They say she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
