Lawyers discussing Vt. road rage shooting case
Associated Press

ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) — Lawyers are working on a trial date for a Vermont man accused of shooting to death a woman during a road-rage dispute.

Thirty-year-old Matthew Webster of Swanton has pleaded not guilty to the September shooting death of 30-year-old Anna Alger of Highgate.

Webster allegedly ran a red light in St. Albans and was nearly struck by Alger's car. Alger got out of her car and was yelling as she approached Webster.

The Burlington Free Press reports ( Judge Michael Maley said a trial date in the summer is most likely, but he set no final schedule during Tuesday's hearing in Vermont Superior Court. Another hearing is scheduled in about two months.
