BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- The Vermont Veterans Home is on board with a solar project that would involve its land.
The board of trustees has voted to continue pursuing a contract with a company that would install over 80 solar panels on land it owns north of the home in Bennington.
The home could get up to a 10 percent reduction in its annual electric bill. The solar panels also would power the nearby Bennington State Office Complex.
The Bennington Banner reports (http://bit.ly/Jea059) Cornerstone Renewables of Williston says the array would generate 750,000 kilowatt hours over the course of a year.
