ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) — Police in St. Albans, Vt., say a newly hired bank security guard and the bank manager took down a man suspected of grabbing money from a teller and running away.
Police have accused 33-year-old Travis Merritt of jumping the counter Tuesday afternoon at People's United Bank, pushing a teller out of the way, grabbing cash and trying to flee.
WCAX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1tJV9Si) the security guard and bank manager caught up with him in the parking lot, with help from another person.
Police say no one was seriously hurt.
Police say the bank had been robbed on Monday and that there could be a connection between the incidents.
It wasn't immediately known if Merritt had a lawyer.
