MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) -- Toll-collecting at a stop in Merrimack, New Hampshire, will soon become a thing of the past.
The state Department of Transportation is ending collections as of Friday night at Exit 12 on the Everett Turnpike.
Toll equipment at Exit 12 and signs eventually will be removed.
The elimination of the toll tamp booths was included in the gas tax bill passed by legislators this year.
Some legislators said Merrimack residents were disproportionately burdened by having it, one of several in the community.
