SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — The president of the west African nation of Senegal is making a visit to Vermont.
Senegal President Macky Sall is scheduled to visit the Army National Guard aviation facility at the Burlington International Airport on Thursday.
He's due to visit Montpelier on Friday. Sall was invited to Vermont by Gov. Peter Shumlin.
Sall will also visit the Statehouse, the Vermont Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, and he will be meeting with educational leaders from the state.
The Vermont National Guard has had a partnership with the Senegalese military since 2008.
Nearly two dozen African leaders are in the United States this week for meetings in Washington.
