MEREDITH, N.H. (AP) — Residents in one Lake Winnipesaukee town are trying to scare off Canada geese that foul the grass near a sculpture walk — they're adding some fake coyotes to the stone and brass artwork.
The decoys will be added at night to the sculpture walk in Meredith. The trick is to move them around in order to trick the birds.
Town Administrator Phil Warren Jr. says other choices to get rid of the geese are too expensive or drastic. He said he's going to try a couple of the coyotes, which cost $70 each, after consulting with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Warren said they were effective in a Massachusetts community where he worked.
