Woman accused of selling fake fair tickets

ESSEX, Vt. (AP) -- Police in Essex, Vermont, have accused a woman of selling and distributing counterfeit tickets to the Champlain Valley Fair.

Jeannie Morrill of Burlington has been accused of false pretenses. The 32-year-old Morrill is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 18.

Police said they seized a large number of unissued counterfeit tickets. They said the only authorized location to buy the tickets is at the Champlain Valley Fair.

The fair started Aug. 22 and runs through Sunday.
