Greensboro Church Hosting Performance By Fyre & Lightning
The Fyre and Lightning Baroque Ensemble will perform Sunday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. at the Greensboro United Church of Christ in Greensboro. The ensemble is a newly-formed quartet of local musicians: Lynnette Combs (harpsichord), Kathy and Steven Light (recorders) and George Stone (bassoon). Camerata New England Featuring Pianist In Colebrook
A remarkable musical instrument has been reclaimed and is finding a new home at the Tillotson Center for the Arts. The beautifully restored 1928 Steinway grand piano will have its debut performance when Camerata New England returns to Colebrook at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, for a concert of piano quintets by Robert Schumann and Anton√≠n DvoŇ?√°k.

Local Author Releases Murder Mystery
Cathy Strasser of Sugar Hill, N.H., has recently published her first book, "An Uncertain Grave." Strasser is an occupational therapist and freelance writer. Her short story "Afterward," was nominated for the 2007 Pushcart Prize -- Best of Small Presses. She has also had weekly columns published in the Caledonian-Record, the Bangor Daily News and the Burlington Free Press.

Goodrich Library Hosting Acoustic Guitar Performance
West coast acoustical guitarist Dorian Michael will perform at the Goodrich Memorial Library on Thursday at 7 p.m. Michael started playing guitar as a seven-year old in Los Angeles and he has been a working guitarist for four decades and in that time has played plenty of blues and folk, jazz and rock and roll. There will be refreshments. Donations appreciated. The library is handicapped accessible. For information call 334-7902.

Heliand Consort In St. Johnsbury
Heliand Consort returns to the Northeast Kingdom this month to present the inaugural concert in the new series, Music at North Church. The Vermont ensemble performs "Beethoven, Bruch & Beyond," a hybrid program of classical music and new works on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at North Church in St. Johnsbury. The performers include bassoonist and Lyndon native, Rachael Elliott, clarinetist Elisabeth LeBlanc, and pianist Cynthia Huard.
