Lyndon Institute Headmaster Attends Commencement Ceremonies At Chinese Partner Schools
LYNDON INSTITUTE PARTNERS WITH SCHOOLS IN CHINA -- Lyndon Institute Headmaster Daren Houck and International Student coordinator, Sara O'Connor, are pictured during their recent travels to China to attend commencement ceremonies at partner schools in Hefei and Shaoxing. The programs at the partner schools are "schools within a school" that offer all instruction in English with a curriculum designed by LI. Students receive a certificate of completion at commencement and a majority of the students are pursuing their education at American colleges and universities.

Jack Gordon Scholarship Winners Announced
The trustees of the Jack Gordon Scholarship fund, based at the Waumbek Golf Club in Jefferson, N.H., recently announced the following winners of the 2015 awards: Alec Cassady and Jacob Wood, both from White Mountains Regional High School in Whitefield, N.H.; Hunter Leighton from Profile School in Bethlehem, N.H.; and Nicholas Walsh of Littleton High School. Each student will receive $1,000 to continue his education.

Lakeway Students Collect Pull Tabs To Benefit Shriner's Hospital
LAKEWAY STUDENTS COLLECT TABS FOR SHRINER'S HOSPITAL -- The fifth-grade students at Lakeway Elementary School in Littleton, N.H. collected 68 pounds of pull tabs for the Shriner's Hospital for Children. The pull tabs were collected throughout the school year from participants school wide. The photo shows the students giving the tabs to Shriner Mark Blodgett (standing in back). The fifth graders would like to take their task community wide and try to collect more tabs this coming school year.

During their stay, they watched the Manchester Fisher Cats beat the Bowie Baysox in a score of 1--0. Exhibit Celebrates Artwork By Children In The Art For Kids Program
On a Sunday afternoon in late spring, Geisel School of Medicine students welcomed family and friends of children in the "Art for Kids" program and the waiting room arts project to an exhibition featuring artwork created by those in the programs. The work is on view in Matthews-Fuller Health Sciences Library at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC).

Elizabeth Stevens, of St. Johnsbury has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2015 semester at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average out of a 4.0 grading system.

GHS Students Honored At Awards Banquet
Groveton High School celebrated its 26th Annual Honors Banquet on May 12. The school honored 45 outstanding students for their academic achievements from the fourth quarter last year through this past April. These diligent young people embraced rigor and earned exemplary grades in all their courses. All 45 students earned an 85 or higher in every class in at least three out of the four last quarters; 23 did it for all four quarters.

Lyndon State College Upward Bound's Boston Leadership Trip
The Lyndon State College Upward Bound program kicked off their 35th annual Summer Residential Program on June 14 with a four-day full program leadership trip to Boston. Fifty-six students and staff from the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the North Country of New Hampshire travelled to the nation's oldest commonwealth and took in the sights of the city.
