NASCAR Was Correct in Black Flagging Brad Keselowski
The first thing you need to know is NASCAR added at least one more official to this deal and maybe even another camera or two after they clearly allowed Jeff Gordon to get away with jumping the restart at Chicago the week before.

Denny Hamlin Headed to Next Round, Kevin Harvick in a Big Hole
When bossman Brian France chose to manipulate the points four times in the season’s final 10 races it was a no-brainer it would create some drama. Having Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick getting into a tussle in the first playoff race was only a bonus.

Low-downforce Rules Package Gets Rave Reviews at Darlington
The low-downforce rules package first used back in July at Kentucky Speedway was a hit and at Darlington it seemed even better. “That’s the way racing is supposed to be. In fact, only one non-winner finished in the top 5 and that was Clint Bowyer (fifth) and only two (Ryan Newman 10th) in the top 10. Newman is all but a lock-in while Bowyer is looking good to sneak in on points.

Some Guys Looking to Back Into the Playoffs Via Points Had a Tough Go of It Last Sunday
Jamie McMurray finished 40th, Jeff Gordon 41st and Kasey Kahne was 42nd. So, with only four races to go, (if Kyle Busch remains in the top 30) those in by points would be McMurray 73 points ahead of 16th, Paul Menard is +60, Gordon +58, Ryan Newman +51 and Clint Bowyer is +50.
