Nick Bigelow Leaving ACT/Thunder Road
My son Nick gave his two-week notice last week and will be done working for ACT on Friday, March 13. He’s at a point in his life where it’s time to work a job with more family friendly hours. He’s engaged to Britney Lane and they’ll be married in August 2016.

The New Smyrna (FL) Speedway has long been on the “must see” list for short-track race aficionados. This year, a unique partnership between NASCAR, and will allow fans across the globe and in the stands at the .48-mile high-banked oval to witness the action as never before. In a special presentation format, powered by will broadcast eight nights of racing from the 49th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna from Feb. 13-21.

JGR Starts 23rd Season, NASCAR Has New Officiating System, Tracks Cut Seating
Joe Gibbs Racing ran their first race in February 1992, one season before Jeff Gordon began his career. Dale Jarrett, Gibb’s first driver, drove the Interstate Battery No. 18 in the Daytona 500. The race report says an accident on lap 91 (of 200) ended his day with a 36th place finish. 1992 was my first trip to Daytona and the race was won by Davey Allison.
