Gary Moore: Local Conservation Officers Honored
Conservation Officer Matthew Holmes of Whitefield, has received the 2013 Northeast Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs Association of the Year Award. Holmes who has been with Fish and Game since 2005, patrols in Dalton, Carroll, Whitefield, Jefferson and several unincorporated townships on the west side of Mount Washington.

Kevin Lamere of Brownington was bow hunting in Orleans County last Oct. 5 when he bagged what has now been determined to be the heaviest bear taken in Vermont by bow and arrow since 1898, and a new record according to skull measurements.
