WESTMORE -- Newark native Aubriella Holden competed in the Willoughby Tri, her first triathlon, on July 26. Jesse Holden, Aubriella's father, said it was about the 10th competitive race for the 7-year-old. "She ran a seven-mile race last year and a five-mile race this past year," Jesse said.

Outdoors: NC Endurance Challenge Sept. 6
PITTSBURG, N.H. -- Athletes from across North America will undertake the multi-sport, one-day mountain race known as the North Country Endurance Challenge on Saturday, September 6. Incorporating kayaking, mountain biking and running, athletes will test their stamina on either a 30-mile course or the 70-mile premiere course, both traversing New Hampshire's Great North Woods North. The event raises money for the development and sustainability of recreational trails in Coos County.

MORGAN -- Saturday marked the fifth running (and biking and swimming) of the Kingdom Triathlon "Even Up" series. The Aquaman Even Up and Ollie Even Up races take their name from the fact that the distances for each leg are calculated so that athletes should spend just about the same amount of time swimming as they do running or biking.
