Local Commentary: RiverFest Highlights Busy Weekend
I have fallen a little behind as far as keeping up with adequate notice for community weekend events. There's a lot going on though, and toward that end the town of Lunenberg will be a happening place with this weekend's annual RiverFest (11 a.m.-5 p.m.). A multitude of activities, kayaking among them, benefits the local historical society, the local food shelf and numerous other non-profit charities. It's all centered on the quaint town common in this little hamlet located right on Rt. 2, so motorists should not only use caution today, but, if passing through from noon-2, stop in for a bite to eat during Grub on the Green, the town-wide potluck meal open to all. Music is part of RiverFest too, at Lunenburg Open Mic (6-9 p.m.), an evening of outstanding musical fare for all music lovers. The beauty and acoustics of the Old Congregational Church enhances the ambience.
