Severance Thanksgiving Run
WHITEFIELD, N.H. -- A North Country Thanksgiving tradition, the Severance Wilderness 3-Mile Trail Run has runners tackling a tough course through the Severance property on Jefferson Road in Whitefield. RUTLAND -- The smash-mouth clash between St. Johnsbury and Middlebury on Saturday night left little doubt that the two best football teams in Vermont were going head-to-head for the Division I championship. When it was all over and the Tigers walked off the field with their second straight title, and 22nd consecutive win in back-to-back undefeated seasons, they had proven themselves yet again to be the best of the best.

Engineers Return to Final, Seek First Title in 20 Years
WOODSVILLE, N.H. -- Over the past two seasons, the top-ranked Woodsville girls soccer team has accumulated a 36-1-2 record. The one loss came in last year's state championship against Sunapee, a game which went into penalty kicks. The loss was also the Engineers' first in a state final as they won in 1993 and 1994, the only years they made it that far.

Ian Baker was dynamite in two playoff upsets for the Profile boys soccer team last week. On Wednesday, the Patriots senior goalkeeper scored a penalty kick and saved another in No. 10 Profile's 3-2 win over No. 7 Littleton. On Saturday, Baker was at it again, finishing with 28 saves in the Patriots 2-0 upset over second-ranked Newmarket.
