Sometimes it's best to just let the numbers speak for themselves. In three games last week, North Country junior Colin Myrick went a combined 9-for-12 at the plate (.750) with four home runs and two doubles. That's a slugging percentage of 1.917. He also pitched four shutout innings against Vergennes before he was pulled because the game was so comfortably in hand.

The answer is that around here, it can't be, not yet anyway. Despite the warm sun and thawing showers of recent days, most Northeast Kingdom high schools are still looking at fields that are either too soft for play or still partially covered with ice and snow.
