LYNDONVILLE -- Kelleigh Simpson threw a no-hitter to help the Lyndon 11-12 year old softball team off to a fast start Tuesday in the District IV softball tournament, with an abbreviated 13-1 win over Cal-West. Originally slated for six innings, the game was called after four innings due to the 10-run rule.

Megan Wood Field Hockey
All Star Twin State Game: Megan Wood, left, plays in the June 26 All Star Twin State field hockey game featuring Vermont vs. New Hampshire at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. Wood, who recently graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy, was the first-ever SJA student-athlete chosen for the team. With Vermont trailing 3-1, Wood scored on an assist from Burlington Free Press athlete of the year, Kathleen Young. Then Vermont scored again to force overtime, with the Granite State prevailing in the extra session.
