Holiday Motel site for fire station
If the Holiday Motel site is being considered, why not look right across the street at the empty lot where the pizza place and the flooring store stood. There is plenty of level space next to the pool for the truck bays. The living quarters and office space can go right next to the bays where the flooring store was. The current motel entrance from Railroad Street could serve as a back entrance to the station.

The truth about feral cats
A feral cat is an unsocialized cat. Either he was born outside and never lived with humans, or he is a house cat who has strayed from home and over time has become unsocialized to humans.

A stray cat is not a feral cat. A stray is a cat who has been abandoned or who has strayed from home and become lost. Stray cats can usually be re-socialized and adopted.

Feral vs. stray cats
Most people in the area know who I am; I have been working as an animal control officer in several area towns for 12 years. There was an article in the paper about cats in St. Johnsbury just before I left to go on the first vacation I've taken in 10 years. I came back to phone calls and columns in the paper saying that I'm rounding up feral cats for something close to a holocaust.
